Sales- General Training: University of Utah Design Engineering Work History: Sheet metal work with father as a boy Thirty years experience in the metal industry doing machining, sheet metal fabrication, millwright, and foundry work. Have been with Prime Machine for twenty plus years. Have worked as a machinist, millwright, purchasing agent, project manager and trouble shooter. Specialized in repairs of Hydro and Steam power plant equipment. Pumps, turbine, compressor, fans, valve repair, babbitt bearings and all types of rotating equipment. Reverse engineering parts, making castings and finish parts of new or absolute equipment. I have experience in metalizing to restore worn parts or to add wear coatings to increase service life to pumps, fans, turbines and mining equipment. |

Weld Shop Area Manager: Bill began his career in welding as a junior in High School. As a senior he competed in V.I.C.A. to win local honors in GTAW and GMAW. after High School he attended Salt Lake Community College taking several courses in welding, machining and pattern development. During this time he worked as a fitter welder in structural, tank and plate working with a verity of base materials including aluminum, 300 and 400 series stainless steels, copper, bronze, invar, heat treatable steels, manganese steels, titanium and high nickel alloys. He has a good working knowledge in welding metallurgy, understanding when and why pre-heat and post-heat is to be applied. He's highly skilled in stress relief, quench and tempering and flame straightening. Bill has worked as a consultant for Hughes Christensen to train personnel to become certified in FCAW and qualify weld procedures in SMAW, FCAW and SAW welding processes. He has also worked as a consultant for T.I.C. to train their personal to set up for field welding of large diameter kiln shells and to train their people to become certified in SAW under ASME code. |
